I/O Devices

Keyboards, mice, handhelds, USB, printers, scanners and questions about peripherals.

Q: Why does my mouse and keyboard freeze (lock up) when I'm on the Internet?

A: A common problem caused by a version conflict in media enhancement software drivers called DirectX. DirectX increases the performance of your sound, video and game control devices. Conflict starts when the user installs an older version of DirectX, usually by accident, from a program installation setup disk. Problem can be remedied by reinstalling the original drivers. Drivers can be found on the Video Adapter CD.
