Q: When I try to exit out of Windows it just hangs.

A: One of the most common reasons for Windows hanging on the exit is because it cannot perform one of its shutdown tasks. The shutdown tasks include playing any sounds that are set to play when Windows exits. You can check this by going to the control panel (Start, settings, control panel). Double-click on the Sounds icon, and set the "Exit windows" wave sound to none. This will often resolve this shutdown problem.
